Waiting on Wednesday (165)

Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine.

Road to Eugenica by A.M. Rose
(February 5, 2018!)

Yesterday, Drea Smith couldn’t do anything spectacular—even walking and texting at the same time was a challenge. But today, she suddenly has more answers than Google, can speak and understand numerous languages, and she can fight. Like a boss.
Seriously cool.
Drea has no idea where her encyclopedic knowledge has come from, but she’ll take it when she discovers someone out there knows her secret and wants her badly. And that they’ve been searching for her since she was born.
Since she was created.
With the help of her best friend Dylan, who just wants to keep her safe, and Maddox, a mysterious new boy who is prepared to get her answers, Drea will have to push her new skills to their limit as she uncovers nothing is quite what it seems.
As she uncovers...Eugenica.

I'll be honest: I originally added this to my TBR because of the cover. However, the premise sounds really interesting as well. And we don't have to wait too long - February is right around the corner!

The Last Summer of the Garrett Girls by Jessica Spotswood
(Coming June 1, 2018)

One summer will challenge everything the Garrett sisters thought they knew about themselves—and each other.
Kat lands the lead in the community theater’s summer play, but the drama spills offstage when her ex and his new girlfriend are cast too. Can she get revenge by staging a new romance of her own?

Bea and her boyfriend are heading off to college together in the fall, just like they planned when they started dating. But Bea isn’t sure she wants the same things as when she was thirteen…

Vi has a crush on the girl next door. It makes her happy and nervous, but Cece has a boyfriend…so it’s not like her feelings could ever be reciprocated, right?

As the oldest, Des shoulders a lot of responsibility for her family and their independent bookstore. Except it’s hard to dream big when she’s so busy taking care of everyone else.

Told through four alternating points of view, readers will laugh, cry, and fall in love alongside the Garrett girls in this captivating new novel from Jessica Spotswood.
A book about sisters and one monumental summer?! I'm sold!

  1. Great picks Lauren! I'm adding both to goodreads. :)I also like the cover of Road to Eugenica, and the tagline convinced me! As for The Last Summer of the Garrett Girls, I don't think I've ever read a book focused on sisters, and I'm intrigued! I hope you like both of them. :)
